Before You Start

What You Need

  1. A phone number - this will be your business WhatsApp number
    • Can be your existing business number
    • Or get a new number just for WhatsApp
    • Mobile or landline both work
  2. Facebook Business account - WhatsApp is owned by Meta (Facebook)
    • Free to create if you don’t have one
    • Uses same login as personal Facebook (optional)

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Step 1: Start the Connection Process

  1. Go to your Channels page in your dashboard
  2. Click on the WhatsApp card
  3. Click “Connect” button
  4. You’ll see the WhatsApp setup page

Step 2: Connect Your Facebook Account

  1. Click “Login with Facebook” button
  2. Enter your Facebook credentials or create new account
  3. Allow permissions when prompted
    • These permissions let us connect WhatsApp to your AI agent
    • All standard and required for business use
  4. Wait for connection confirmation

Step 3: Set Up Your WhatsApp Business Account

This happens in a popup window from Meta:
  1. Choose your business
    • Select existing business or create new one
    • Enter business name, category, description
  2. Add your phone number
    • Enter the number you want to use for WhatsApp Business
    • Must be a number you can receive calls/texts on
  3. Verify your number
    • You’ll get a verification code via SMS or call
    • Enter the code when prompted
  4. Complete business verification
    • May need to provide business documents
    • This can take a few minutes to several hours

Step 4: Confirm Everything Works

  1. Check your dashboard - you should see your WhatsApp number listed
  2. Send a test message - use your personal phone to message your business number

What this does: Adds a “Chat on WhatsApp” button to your website How to set it up:
  1. Choose your WhatsApp number from the dropdown
  2. Customize the button:
    • Button color and style
    • Position on your website (corner, bottom, etc.)
    • Text that appears on the button
  3. Set pre-filled message - what appears when customers click the button
  4. Get the embed code - copy and paste this onto your website
