The Credit Usage page shows how your plan and additional credits are being spent in the current billing period, with one line for every charge, refund, and credit added. Use it to find which conversations or campaigns used credits, to check a campaign’s final cost, and to reconcile an invoice.

Before you start

  • Open Billing and click Credit usage in the top-right corner. The button appears on paid plans. The back arrow on the Credit Usage page returns to Billing.
  • The page is available to anyone who can open Billing: Owners, Admins, and Managers.

Usage summary

The period selector at the top offers one period, Current billing period: from the start of your current subscription period to the date under Renews on. On the free plan, or when no subscription is active, the period is the 30 days before your plan’s end date. Earlier periods cannot be selected on this page. The Usage summary card shows a bar with your plan credits used out of the credits allocated for the period. Usage by source expands the bar into the credits consumed by each source, net of refunds: Below the bar:
  • Plan credits used and of N allocated: your plan’s credits for the period. Free credits granted to a new workspace are counted here too.
  • Additional credits used and N remaining: purchased credits, automatic top-ups, and credits added by the Popcorn team. Additional credits are only used once plan credits are gone.
  • Renews on: the date your next billing period starts. On the free plan it shows the end of the current plan period.
The Current Plan bar on the Billing page counts free, plan, and additional credits together. Credit Usage separates plan credits from additional credits, so the two remaining figures differ when you hold additional credits.

Credit activity

The Credit activity table lists every credit movement in the period, newest first, 25 per page. Columns: Date, Activity, Customer or campaign, Credits. Charges appear as plain negative numbers; refunds and credits added appear in green with a plus sign. Use the filter above the table to show All activity or a single source: Inbox, Campaigns, Automated campaigns, Popcorn team, or Plan & billing. Expired credits do not appear as activity. When plan or additional credits reach their expiry date they simply stop counting toward your balance.

Reservations and deductions

Campaigns and automated campaigns are charged differently, and the table shows the difference:
  • Campaigns reserve their full estimated cost up front. Launching a campaign to 1,000 contacts adds a Campaign send line of −100 immediately. If 940 messages are sent, the campaign’s real cost is 94 credits and a Campaign refund line of +6 appears once the campaign completes or is stopped. A scheduled campaign reserves credits when it is scheduled; if it fails to launch, the reservation is released the same way.
  • Automated campaigns reserve nothing. Each successful send adds a fifth of a credit to a running total, and a whole credit is deducted when the total reaches one. Before sending, Popcorn checks that the balance can cover the next whole credit; if it cannot, the message is not sent and the campaign’s results show Not sent — out of credits.

Export CSV

Export CSV downloads the full filtered list, not just the current page, as credit-usage-YYYY-MM-DD.csv. The export is capped at 10,000 entries; if there are more, the confirmation reads Exported the first 10,000 entries — narrow the filters for the rest. The file has more detail than the table. Columns: Date / time, Source, Reason, Status, Customer or campaign, Details, Credits. Source and reason use the underlying names rather than the on-screen labels: Status values: Details carries extra context where it exists, for example 2 inbound messages → 1 assistant reply when several customer messages arrived in a burst and produced one AI reply.
