The Meta Business integration sends the products in Popcorn to a Meta catalog attached to your WhatsApp Business Account. With it connected, the agent can send product cards and multi-product messages in WhatsApp, and customers can build a cart. It is not a store: products still come from your connected Shopify, Salla or Zid store (or from Popcorn), and Meta Business only mirrors them to Meta.

Before you start

  • A WhatsApp number connected with Login with Facebook. Meta Business reuses that connection, so there is no second Meta login. Without a connected WhatsApp Business Account, Popcorn replies Connect a WhatsApp Business Account before setting up products in WhatsApp. See connect WhatsApp.
  • Products in Popcorn, usually from a connected store. See Connect your store.
  • A Popcorn role that can manage products (Owner, Admin or Manager).
  • Optionally, an existing commerce catalog in Meta Commerce Manager. If you have none, Popcorn walks you through creating one.

Connect

You can start from two places; both run the same flow:
  • Integrations: click Connect on the Meta Business card.
  • Channels → WhatsApp → Account: in the Products in WhatsApp card (Sync your Popcorn products so customers can browse them and receive product cards in WhatsApp.), click Set up products. Right after you connect a WhatsApp number, Popcorn may also offer this with Bring your products to WhatsApp?.
1

Start the connection

Click Connect (or Set up products). Popcorn checks which Meta business owns your WhatsApp Business Account and looks for catalogs in that business.
2

Choose a catalog

If Popcorn cannot tell which catalog to use, the dialog Choose where to sync your products lists the catalogs it found (Use an existing catalog, each shown as Catalog ending in ####). Select one and click Connect products.
3

Or create a catalog

Select Create a new catalog and click Create catalog in Meta. Meta Commerce Manager opens in a new tab. Create the catalog there, return to Popcorn and click I created it — check again. If no catalog exists at all, the dialog is titled Create a home for your products; you will not need to sign in again.
4

Confirm the sync started

Popcorn confirms with Product sync started — your products are being pushed to the Meta catalog in the background. Check the catalog health card for progress. The card reads Connected.
One catalog is shared by every number in this WhatsApp Business Account. A catalog is attached to the WhatsApp Business Account, not to an individual phone number, and the Meta business that owns that account must be the one you authorize. If your connected numbers belong to different Meta business portfolios, Popcorn asks you to move them under one portfolio first.

If the catalog cannot be attached

When Meta accepts the number but not the catalog, the dialog shows WhatsApp is connected. Products still need setup. together with the reason Meta gave, and reminds you: If this catalog is already connected to another WhatsApp Business Account, disconnect it there or choose another catalog. You can also finish now and return later. Click Try again to pick a catalog again, or Finish for now to leave it. While setup is incomplete, the Products in WhatsApp card shows an Action required badge and a Continue setup button.

What happens after connecting

  • Every active product in Popcorn is queued and pushed to the catalog in batches. Large catalogs take a while; progress shows in Meta catalog health.
  • Popcorn turns on catalog visibility for the connected number(s). Your cart preference is not changed: it stays whatever Cart Checkout is set to under Channels → WhatsApp → Account. See Products in WhatsApp.
  • From then on, every product change in Popcorn, whether from your store sync or an edit in Products, is queued to the catalog. Products and variants you delete in Popcorn are removed from it.
  • Every night Popcorn compares your Popcorn products with the catalog’s actual contents, re-pushes products that are missing and records products Meta rejected. It never deletes catalog items it cannot match to a Popcorn product, so items added by other tools are left alone.
  • Resync products on your store’s card pulls the catalog from the store and then pushes it on to Meta in one go. It also retries the removal of products you deleted in Popcorn that are still in the catalog, so run it if a deleted product keeps appearing in WhatsApp.

Meta catalog health

Once a catalog is connected, Channels → WhatsApp → Account shows a Meta catalog health card: how many active products are live in Meta, which ones Meta rejected (with its reason), which are still syncing, and when the nightly check last ran. If it reads Catalog connection expired — reconnect Meta to resume syncing, click Reconnect on the Meta Business card or Set up products on the WhatsApp page. Each line of the card is explained in Products in WhatsApp. Product cards and carts in conversations are controlled by the Product Sharing and Cart Checkout toggles, which appear once a catalog is connected. See Products in WhatsApp.

Reconnect and switch catalogs

Click Reconnect on the Meta Business card (or Connected in the Products in WhatsApp card) to run the flow again. Popcorn re-validates the connection and lets you pick a catalog again. The current catalog link is cleared as soon as the new authorization starts and is set again once Meta confirms the attachment, so finish the dialog rather than closing it halfway: until you do, the Products in WhatsApp card shows Action required. Do this when:
  • the catalog health card says the connection expired;
  • you want to move products to a different catalog.
